Apply on Paper for a Visitor Visa

The fee for processing your application is not refundable, so make sure you are eligible to get a Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) before you apply. Please note that submitting a completed application and necessary supporting documents does not guarantee that you will receive a visa.

If you need to give your biometrics you must apply online.

Steps Required to Submit Visitor Visa Application

Download and complete the Application for Temporary Resident Visa [IMM 5257] (PDF, 338 KB).

Note that this form is required for Business, Tourism, Short Term Studies, Returning Worker, Returning Student, and Super Visa (Parents and Grandparents). Access other forms >>

Step 2

Download and complete the Document Checklist. Please complete and place this checklist on top of your application.

Step 4

Submit your application. Only 3 offices in the United States process Visitor Visa applications. For Visitors Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) you may submit your applications to New York, Los Angeles or Washington offices.
